What is changing?
- Following a period of testing during 2022, refreshed Tableau dashboards were launched, aiming to meet better the needs and data requirements of children’s services professionals across the East Midlands
- Due to the increase in the requirements for the National RIIA return, the East Midlands data leads group have recommended a review of the existing local indicators being collected to see if these are still required going forward and to streamline collection.
Recommendations from this consultation will be taken to four East Midlands regional groups for a final decision.
- DCS Group (Directors of Children’s Services)
- Directors of Social work and Safeguarding
- Education Leads (EMSEG)
- Commissioning Leads
How is data shared
The SDSA commission Leicestershire County Council’s Business Intelligence Traded Service to collect, analyse and share the visualisation of this data securely.
- Tableau is the data visualisation tool that is used. Click here to access the public view of the tool.
- A secure Leicestershire Traded Services portal provides access to the Tableau dashboards
- Each registered user of the portal has a unique URL to access the site, as well as a username and password.
- For problems with the login, visit the portal help page
- Permissions and access are set at appropriate levels. For example, the Department for Education (DfE) can access the national RIIA24 data set, but they cannot access additional local collections, and a very limited audience is permitted to access the SEND commissioning data. In addition, some of the local indicators collected have restricted permissions.
- Content is being developed to provide further support to users of the portal, be they data analysts or operational leads to enable self-service and exploration of the data available.
